where can i get some good digital backgrounds? Due to the fact that i want to start taking pictures but really don't understand the chromakey system at all.

I always used Denny Manufacturing Company,Inc. for my backgrounds. I never had a problem with them or their products. They offer 3 colors in chromakey. I can't help with the use of chromakey as I've never used or tried it. Maybe someone else here can shed some light on it.
