i would have composed the picture in your view finder so you see more in front of her instead of behind her. That way someone looking at the photo would have been thinking t themselves ok what is she looking at??
The only other thing is you chopped the top of her head. But everyone does that once in a while when they are learning. Unless you did it on purpose.

i know they could all be better; a lot of them are taken on the fly, and i just happen to like them when i am reveiwing them.

No need to apologize for any of them. In fact, I like the shots of your kids the way they are. The technical flaws of the shot of your son are quite in keeping with his wacky playfulness. If it had been perfectly framed and in focus, it would have lost its charm. As for the girl, B&W was an excellent choice. And again, the offset framing works for me. She seems pensive and she's looking off to the side that's hidden to the viewer. Whatever she's looking at remains her secret.
