Anybody using the Epson 1280?

I was wondering if anybody could shed some light on problems I am having with this printer.
1) I find that I have to way oversaturate the colour on my monitor in order to get it to print well(to the point it almost looks absurd on the monitor).
If I print to what I think looks right on my monitor, the colour prints very flat. I believe I have all the latest profiles and such for my printer??......

Feedback on scanners

I'm looking into scanners. Anyone have any thoughts on comparisons of the following:
Nikon Coolscan 4000ED vs Minolta Dimage Scan 5400.
For that matter, given the price range with these scanners (approximately $900) ... is the quality of either/both noticably greater than scanners one tier lower such as the Nikon Coolscan IV ED or others folks have had experience with.
I'm more or less scanne

Got a job for garden photography. I was planning to use Velvia 100, but they are on back order (?) everywhere here in Germany.
I have to make the first shots on Sunday and am not sure about the new
Sensia 100 and don't know if I can get enough Velvia 50 tomorrow.
What else would you recommend for this topic? Any special consumer Kodak slides or consumer Agfa slides?

I've a 35mm positive filmstrip strongly containing some 72 pictures. The frame size is identical to a motion picture filmstip. It's approx 1/2 frame of regular 35mm photo frame. Basically, it's a square frame.
Where can I get this long filmstrip scanned and put on CD? The photo labs here in Montreal Canada say that they can't scan it. I said that it's ok to scan 2 frames at a time and at the

Slide Scanner with Automatic Bulk Feed

I have been scanning 35mm slides on a flatbed Epson scanner with reasonably well results. Now I have a project that requires scanning a very large amount of 35mm slides (mostly in cadrboard mounts) so I am looking for film scannmers that have some form of bulk loading/feding mechanism that can ran in batch mode. The only one I have seen so far is the Nikon Coolscan 4000 ED with the optional slid

Help with prints from slides

I have tried to make prints from slides in the past by sending my slide to a "pro" lab. The quality of the prints was dreadful! They were lacking contrast, the image had a green appearance, and it was washed out. I sent the slides back and profusely asked them to completely try again. Next same result.
Can someone tell me what I need to do to get a slide from a print to look as good as the

Even though does any one empirically have experiences with 1 of the above scanners? I wanna use them for high quality scans to archive sparingly slides on CD, make prints & virtually do some web presentation of my pictures.
