Windows (My Computer) can do it. just make directory, then burn to DVD/CD.

How do you need them Organized? Date? Subject? Image problems etc... There are other software out there but it depends on what you need when you say Organized?

There are a number of tasks involved in organizing pictures, but not all tasks require special software to handle.

I use Photoshop CS3 and it comes with PS Bridge, which is a great tool for pro throughput. With Bridge, a user can transfer image files from the camera to the computer and rename files on the fly.

But I manually copy (via Windows Explorer) the files from the camera's memory card to a hard drive. Whether you use a special software or just the Windows environment to transfer the files, you still need to come up with your own storage scheme. You'll probably also need to come up with your own file-naming scheme.

If you have MS Office installed, you can use Office's Picture Manager to do some organizing.

If you use a date as part of the file name or folder name, be sure to use this format (YYYY-MM-DD) for proper sorting.

Yep, Bridge is great... I use it profusely. Plus some online photo storage places like Smugmug offer a plugin that allows you to publish directly from Bridge to your storage space. This saves tons of time and effort.

My computer, too...If only I could be organized well...When I download I put them under make of camera, then date of download. Now after I do editing/resize and I put in name sized folders 800,1000, etc-(its always subject to change as i submit/share on sites that have different posting sizes-that's where I need to figure out better). Then I have a few named -like 'birds' or 'digital art' 'b&w'...

I struggle with trying to organize my pictures too. I have so many and they are not all like "Family reunion 2008" or "class of 86" or "trip to Zoo", but I have categorized mine into things like "sunsets", "pets","Architecture","Nature",etc, but as my collection grows - I find myself canning more pictures than I used to as I am learning to be more selective - I am seriously considering buying a 1TB NAS box storage device to put on my network to store all the images. My DVD collection now has many images on them, They too need sorting - I originally categorized them by date, but now I want to change that too. Definitely if someone has a great method on how to categorize - That would definitely be helpful for me
