I'll start it off. I got a new flash last week but could only get one willing subject to test it with. My 10 Month old Aussie name Hopi. She posed for about 6 shots then had enough and moved on.

Here's a shot from a t-ball shoot earlier today. Of course, that's my kid holding up the ball with pride.

I spent today at a nearby Apaloosa horse ranch (a different ranch from where I photographed that white horse on the stormy ridge). They have a lot of baby animals this time of year. I think the rancher said this baby was about four weeks old.

I got this shot about 0800-0830 this morning.

Looking at these photos do you all feel the spring in the air? Wow, so cheerful.... I brightens my day (which is horribly hot in 33 degr.C)

I can sympathize, Chica. The day I photographed that woman and the baby horse, it hit 32 C.

Do you recall how green those horse shots I posted about a month ago? That wasn't just post-production saturation tweak. That's how green it was around here in the winter. Already the hills and pastures are starting to go brown.

JZweco e-x-c-e-l-l-e-n-t shot. How did you get him to pose for you?

OrcaBob it went on to 38C y'day but you mention something 'funny', I also noted that there are loads of (brown) leafs on the ground while I always thought the falling of leafs happens in autumn

I cheated and snuck up on him through a window in my house....<grin>

Lovely creature but he/she spooks real easy. I hope to get some shots of him / her actually "pecking" on the tree.

Great Shot JZweco, sometimes we have to cheat a little to keep the shot....

JZ,

A shot is a shot is a shot. IMO, it's no more cheating to sneak up on the bird in the window than it is to hide behind a blind -- which many wildlife photographers do. It's not as if you photographed an animal in a zoo and then claimed it was out in the wild. You got a fine shot and made no false claims about the circumstances. End of story. And well done!
