I have been creating photo books for a few years now and had been using Blurb.com to do most of them. I found Blurb affordable and their printing acceptable. (Not a glowing review, is it?)

Recently I had a new company suggested to me by someone I respect, MyCanvas.com. As I generally do a 'best of' book every year I figured I'd try this company out. Their creation process was quick and easy, they do not have as many templates to choose from as Blurb (they say they have more coming) but they were easier to use than Blurb's. They also have more cover options.

But the clincher was when I got it. Wow!
The cover is fantastic, the color reproduction is exceptional and the binding is very good. Their turn around time from order to delivery was about 9 calendar days which I thought was very good.

I got a wrap around cover on my book and here is what it looked like:

That's a very attractive cover, Mark.

How was the price?

They are a little higher than Blurb.

MyCanvas price page:
http://www.mycanvas.com/Flash/Site.aspx#app=d662&6f8d- pageName=MyCanvasMasterPage&6f8d-pageData=&6f8d- contentPageData=&6f8d- contentPageName=MyCanvasProductsPage&6f8d-pageArgs=% 5Bobject%20Object%5D&6f8d-contentPageArgs=%5Bobject% 20Object%5D - click on the 'price & Shippling' link.

Blurb pricing:

I also forgot to mention that at this point MyCanvas does not have a 'storefront' option for selling books directly like Blurb does. I'm hoping that they work out some arrangement to do so in the near future.

I created a calendar with MyCanvas also and it was absolutely gorgeous. The images just jumped off the page. I'd been using Lulu for my calendar sales.

You'd think so, wouldn't you?

Here is a link to the calendar site, if anyone is interested.

My current book is not for public sale but here are some I have done in previous years. These were fund raiser projects for the high school band.
