When you see nature (especially birds) and the intricate detail that they have to attract mates, it really is amazing with how varied and beautiful they can be. Just look at those colours and the variation of patterns, not only on the "eye" feathers, but everything else..... Arn't genes and evolution fantastic - just what tells them how to make patterns as seen in your photo? What is even more shocking is the the different genders of birds can have totally different plumage, yet are the same species.

LOL - my sinister hat on now.... maybe those dots are a special morse code or something

Hi Lee. Great shot. For some reason, it looks a little washed out to me. I would also like to suggest taking the photo again, but at a different angle. I know this is difficult to do with animals. I was taught that you take the picture you want, then kneel down and take it again. Then step up on a ladder and take it again. Then walk around the subject and take other shots as well. This has been a huge change in the way I shoot. You would be surprised at all the cool shots that you can get.

Don't get me wrong... I like your shot, but its a pretty common shot.

It goes something like this, "ATCGATCG"

That is a beautiful bird. I have bunches of peacock plumage for fly tying (trout flies of course). Tight lines everyone!
