There is a local art contest here in town.

They have taken the old slate shingles off of a historic local building and are having an fundraiser by selling art on the old shingles.

Now, I am no painter, but would love to past some local photographs onto the slate.

Has anyone done this and what is a good process for doing this?

I only have one shingle to work with so I don't want to mess this up.

not sure this is a help but first if the slate is smooth, then using a lacquer might do it. i would research this idea though as i have never tried it. you could simply set the picture on the slate and used the lacquer lightly spread over the entire slate and photo. i have used lacquer on many things but never a photo so make sure it does not mess with the photo first by doing a test run on something else...
