I've recently come into the possession of a Nikon LS-1000 - however I don't have any software for it. It came with a power cord and a SCSI/Serial cable. When plugged into my Dell Win XP Pro is not even recognizing the hardware. Any suggestions would be appreciated as I have a bunch of family slides to copy.

Thanks,
Duane

Thanks for the link, I've downloaded the software and even though it's linked to the LS-1000 the software is for the LS-2000. At this point I'm not even sure that XP supports the scanner.

Email them, they should send it to you or point you the right file. etc. The XP thing you may have to update the firmware on the scanner

Lasersoft Imaging has a version of their SilverFast scanning software that runs our old LS-1000 like a dream. It costs about $75 and includes XP-compatible SCSI driver which installs as part of the setup.

We had put the scanner away due to lack of 32-bit drivers, but now it's back online and useful as ever!
