One of this week's agenda items: sunset work.

One technique I practiced was using fill flash on a model with the sunset backing her and leaving most of my view in deep shadow.

And here's a different take: shooting with the sun instead of against it, using a diffusion screen to soften the sunset on the model.

That's cool Bob, the sun makes a good hair light. Is this girl another soccer player?

Nope, not soccer player. Found her somewhere else. Super-sweet girl. TALL girl. I had more trouble communicating with her on the shoot than with any other model I've worked with. Ironically, she's a Communications major.

Despite the communication gap (which was shrinking slowly by the hour), we're definitely going to be working again.
