I would like to start a discussion regarding the influence of microstock websites on the general condition of photography market.

I personally submit to 123rf and Dreamstime and are still pretty enthusiastic.

I know that there're lots of admirers of microstock, but I also have come across opinions that microstock would gradually destroy the photography market.

Do you agree that microstock would lower the prices of the images to such an extent that it will no longer be profitable for professionals to be full-time photographers?

Or maybe it's a fantastic opportunity for those who want to take first steps in photo business?

Since I've been working in advertising industry where I would deal with images, I'm curious about this issue. I will appreciate your opinions.

Not sure if Microstock agencies are the ones to blame fully. I would say the digital camera is. With more and more people getting cameras and saying how can I make some money with this the next day.

But it's something to think about.
