I bet you think taking pictures of sunsets is really easy…no! Many things have to be taken under consideration while shooting sunsets. Since the sun is often too bright for cameras to handle, the best thing would be to wait until the sun is at the horizon, or even wait until its sets. Often the most beautiful pictures turn out when you wait until the sun completely sets, and even after that. Then the skies get filled with the most beautiful colors. So it’s better to wait. But don’t wait too long as you might miss the whole thing. Clouds can be something of great value to sunset photos. Try and shoot higher clouds over low clouds (if you can), since lower clouds tend to be blurry around the sun and the colors tend to come and go very quickly.
Try to find a simple foreground for your sunset photograph. Maybe a pier or reflecting water.
Also try to take some pictures with no filter and some with an FL-D in order to add some purple colors to the sky. This filter is the best. Other filters will probably just mess the picture up.
The most important thing - enjoy it. And if you didn’t get any good pictures, well - there’s always tomorrow’s sunset…
