This is one of the many headshots I recently took of my daughter for an upcoming pageant she has. I edited it "glitzy" because that is what the pageant called for

i will have to say great capture but the post editing is kinda bothering me. IMO the eyes seem fake and look like dolls eyes. Now that may be what the pageant is looking for but its takes my focus of the enitre picture and just to her plastic like eyes sorry

I may be mistaken but I think it was supposed to look like that.

Which means she did a good job editing.

Xavier, that is ok you are entitled to your own opinion my husband also hates her glitz pictures, but that is the goal, to create a "perfect" doll-like image.

Thanks!! Do you know if there is a software that you can just add hair and eyelashes or do you have to draw them yourself? Because I had seen on one of the episodes of T & T that this one lady was doing the retouches and just picked out eyelashes and added jewelry etc. Thanks

Fantastic!!!! I love it! What a great photo!

How did you blur the edges like that? I am having such a hard time with blurring the edges of the picture itself not "all" edges of the subject. HELP!!!

Thanks! It is very simple, if you have photoshop you just use the blur tool and paint it wherever you want the blur at

Portrait Professional will do that with minimal effort. I use it for some photos. I find that if I am not careful it will correct too much. I will post a couple of photos I did using Portrait Professional so you can see what it can do. I don't keep before and after photos though so I can't show you what they were before the modification. You have to have a pretty powerful computer though as it is a cad based program.

Shutterbug this month did a write up on the latest version of that program (version 9) here: http://www.shutterbug.net/news/080509anthro/index.html

One of the nice things is you can alter every aspect of it. I have found that many times I don't want it to get carried away so once the correction is done, I reduce it so it doesn't give it the Glamour Shots (plastic) effect. Here are a few of the photos I re-worked with it:

You have to be careful when using it with older women because they may not necessarily want to look like a runway model. That's why being able to reduce the effect comes in so handy. I do have to re-work details such as crow's feet prior to bringing it into the program. Otherwise I have found that it doesn't do a good job on them. But since I normally do that anyway, it is no big deal and since I am using version 8, version 9 may have corrected that, I don't know.
