Why does a photo that shows 2848x4288, show 680x1024 in another section of the same application? I was getting ready to upload a pic to Nat. Geo. and the photo that I had selected reads different sizes depending on how (or where) I open it in the same application. It also does this in Corel Paint Shop Pro (which by the way, I think much better than Adobe Photoshop Elements). Thanks for any help.

If you want to be sure of the correct size of your photo you should look at your photo on your computer under the program you saved it under

about the only way any one can help you here is if you post a pic and tell us what size(s) your software is telling you

The original question wasn't about the size of the image file but why the image is showing in different resolutions in different environments.

I don't know Corel PSP, Kinsey, so this is just a guess. Is your application set to resize your images automatically upon being loaded into the workspace?

I used Corel extensively before changing over to Photoshop but can't say I've ever had this problem. Is this problem consistent with many photos or just the one?

This started when I noticed some picutures I took in Arizona and when I first uploaded the pics everything was good. Then one day I opened a picture and it was 800x531. Another of the same picture might be 2240x1488. It's the same picture, so I'm not sure why it would change. Would one application change it -- reduce pixel size? I never really noticed this before, but I guess I can be more attentive, but it seems strange. I guess I need to know what NOT to do to make this happen. Thanks

You're really not giving us anything to go on further.

Like I said earlier, one of your image-processing apps MIGHT be set to automatically resize the picture, but that's for you to check out and verify for us.

You're being very vague about which applications are being used when you see the picture resolution change. You HAVE to be specific if you expect any help from people who can't peek into your computer and can't see what your eyes are seeing.

Check Your personal settings in the Photo Editing program you are using. Find the photo and open it's properties and check the Image Size.

Ok, I'll try to send two photos. One is showing as 2240x1488 and another of the same photo is showing as 531x800. They are with two different apps, but it doesn't have to be.

well, the file size was too big, so it's didn't allow me to send it. I think I'll just be more careful with it all and make sure the pic I send it the one I really want to send. I'll keep searching this problem till I figure it out Thanks, for all the replies and suggestions.

Kinsey, I don't think it will necessarily help solve your issue by posting the pics this way since you have to resize them to for uploading. If possible, it might be better to link them rather than upload them. (that is if you have an online storage area to link from) ?
