I was trying to look for candidates for the Rule of Leading lines Challenge, when I was taking the pictures, I noticed that an image taken one way appeared totally different than taken another . I will show the pictures to indicate what I am talking about. First this image was taken directly on and the panes of glass on the top appear almost like corrigated iron as the top of the greenhouse. But this is not really what it is:

Now when I took the camera and panned left a little , you are able to see that the panes of glass are actually panes and not corrigated.

So my question is - How do I take a picture straight on and get to show that detail - is it possible ? or is it just a matter of getting a higher view? Is there a better method for capturing the depth as the first shot doesn't really show that? Any suggestions will be greatly appreciated.

Here is a bit of a panaoromic shot of the greenhouse farm:

My first thought was on the first image your photographing the reflection of the sky in the glass. Maybe try a polarize filter. Still not sure if you would get the look your are looking for though. Do they lighten up the green house at night? That maybe a cool image.

I will certainly take a drive past one evening and see if it is lit up - It should be a cool capture if it is. . It was really quite strange as I did not notice the difference until later, when I originally thought the row I took the initial pictures of had a different top, but then looking more in detail noticing they were actually the same as all the rest. Reading more about the challenge - it looks like this particular item although has lines , will not really be that photogenic. Thanks for your comments.

You could probably get some really great leading line shots if you could get closer. I'm assuming you're shooting from behind a fence? If so, what's your chance of getting right up to the building?

I can probably get a lot closer, at least to where the red flags are on the last shot, When I was taking these I did notice a few people watching me, probably thinking why on earth would someone want a picture of the greenhouses :? Will post more If I can do that .
