I have just acquired this most incredible lens, and am wondering if I am "wasting" it on a so so camera. Should I upgrage? will the quality of the photo change drastically if I buy a different camera for this great lens?
Thanks

Yes, I would replace the camera. Canon has some great Rebels out now! I have the T1i and love it. It has some of the same electronics as the 50D (same sensor, same mgpxl = 15, same LCD, bigger and better than other models, and HD video like the new 5D ($2,600)The Canon can be bought for $799 body. Great buy!!!!!

I would only get a new body if you have a need for the upgrade. The lens is not a reason to upgrade. You run the risk of being a techno chaser which will get very expensive very quickly.
