Good morning everyone. Well this week has been slow on the camera end although i did pick out some beautiful places along Ca. Hwy 299 and 36 west. Now is the time to be getting all those waterfall shots here in Northern California. You really can’t drive 10 miles on either of these two Hwy’s without seeing something to stop for (unless your in a hurry like me). One of the most beautiful spots I seen and hadn’t noticed in past trips was a little cabin on 36 just out of Dinsmore with the recent storm systems, This old cabin built into the side of a hill was covered in moss with ferns and coastal trees all around it. It was absolutely breath taking and even in the dim light had I not been hauling a trailer on that narrow rd, I would have turn around just to “try” to get am image that would do it justice.
The rest of my week has been spent on either editing images from my Vampire shoot or getting my old Toyota 4runner more user friendly. After 2 yrs of sitting it is finally running, registered, and had a few new modifications added. My excuse for the upgrades was landscape and wildlife photography and I got a tentative ok from the wife, ok so she just kind of glared at me and mumbled and ok, after telling her I wanted to be able to get to places I just couldn’t before.
Oh before I go, I wanted to recommend a video collection called “Planet Earth”. I believe they have it on the BBC Channel but I borrowed it in it’s DVD form. It took 5yrs to make, 2000 days in the field, 40 camera men, and 200 locations. This is nature at it’s best in my opinion, a must see.
Have a great week and as my state’s governor would say, “I’ll be back!”.
So... what do you think? Please leave me a comment.

Hope your going to post some of the images you did get right.
I have wanted to see that movie too, I just get voted out every time I go to the video store. :( Maybe next time.
unfortunately I was on a deadline to get to the coast and back so it was more like i was scouting on the drive. I am hoping to make it back there next weekend for a short trip. I hate it when I have to drive through places like that and I am working. but when the ability to make money depends on going fast, you go fast…
i know what you mean about seeing something you wanna shoot but you “just can’t stop”. I have been in that situation a time or two it kind of sucks.
I am curious to see what you did with the Vamps.
I would second the recommendation of the Planet Earth Video series, it is very informative and they have extra’s that show what the different crews went through to get the production made. Its very well done
